Dare to Dream Youth Session is this Friday

The Seventh Annual Dare to Dream Youth Session will take place on Friday, Oct. 11 at the Lighthouse Cathedral, 810 Fisher Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.

The Dare to Dream Youth Session is collaboration between South Pittsburgh Coalition for Peace and The Lighthouse Cathedral. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. with the session starting at 7 p.m.

The event is held to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of South Pittsburgh youth and all youth. This year they will present a Young Entrepreneur Award to Alex Portis, CEO, Big Al’s Bakery and four Outstanding Youth Recognition Awards to young people from The Lighthouse Youth Department, Potters House Youth Department, Growing In God Youth Department and the Hilltop Alliance

Performances from the Community will be by: Fireborn Dance Ministry, Potters House Ministries; and, Lighthouse Judah Youth – Rap, dance, drill team.

Invited to attend are: Youth, agencies and the community;

Session guests include: Mayor’s Office, City of Pittsburgh Proclamation; State Representative Jake Wheatley, Proclamation; Keynote Speaker -Rev. Cornell Jones, Group Violence Coordinator, City of Pgh .; Youth speaker –Deonna Fletcher, founder, Make A Wig Foundation; Guest vocalist: Imani Wilkerson, soloist, actress; and, Youth recognition awardees.

Youth Jam Session: Special guest performance: C’aso- young inspirational rap recording artist with a positive youth message.
