Diabetes education series free at Allentown center

Allentown Senior Center will host a free, monthly series of Diabetes Education classes for people of all ages.

Beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 10-11 a.m., as part of the Sweet Spot Diabetes Education for Everyday Living series, Jill Lavella, R. Ph., owner of Hilltop Pharmacy, will provide a diabetes education class entitled, “Type 2 Diabetes Medications.” Everyone is welcome to attend this and future classes.

Allentown Senior Center is at 631 E. Warrington Avenue on the first floor of the Hilltop UM Church. Parking is free in the senior center lot and on Warrington Ave. OPT can also provide door-to-door service for $1.20 each way for anyone registered and over the age of 60.

Those aged 60 and over can also stay for a free lunch if ordered 24 hours in advance. For more information or to order a free lunch, call Allentown Senior Center at 412-481-5484.
