S.S. Library programs for December

Storytime: Toddler and Preschool Tales will take place on Thursdays, December 7, 14 and 21 at 11 a.m.
Get up and get moving with interactive stories, songs and rhymes. Children and adults will actively explore books that improve vocabulary and expand the imagination. Reading together is the most important way for children to learn to read independently. For children 18 months to 5 years and their caregivers.
Kids Create: Gingerbread Houses on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Open House style. The library’s annual Gingerbread House day is back again. Children will have the opportunity to decorate a graham cracker “gingerbread” house while enjoying a holiday movie and munching on holiday treats. All materials are supplied. RSVP by phone or in person. Small children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Teen Time is on Tuesdays from 4 - 6 p.m. Teens who are into cool art projects, epic games, music, food and just chilling out are welcome to come kick it at Teen Time.
Crochet and Knitting Club meets on Wednesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. The CLP - South Side Crochet and Knitting Group is a group of friendly crochet and knitting fans, looking to teach and learn from other friendly crafters. Bring a current projects or start something new.
The Friends of the Library Book Sale will be on December 1 and 2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Join the Friends of South Side Library in supporting the branch with a book sale. Books, DVDs, and Books on CD will be available.
Study Paws is on December 11 and 12 from 5-8 p.m. If studying for finals stressing you out and you need a break, CLP- South Side is hosting therapy animals in partnership with Animal Friends. Pets are a prescription for lives better lived. Evidence supports the benefits of interactions with animals, including decreased blood pressure, reduced stress and accelerated recovery rates from injuries. So take a “paws” from your studies and cuddle a therapet.
Light refreshments from 350º Bakery will be served. And of course coffee.
