Man stabbed on 21st St. in South Side last week

Shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, Pittsburgh police responded to an apartment building in the 700 block of S. 21st Street on South Side for a report that a man had been stabbed in the chest.

Police found the victim on the floor of the lobby with wounds to his chest and abdomen. Paramedics transported Daryl Waite, 49, a McKeesport resident, to UPMC Mercy where he was pronounced dead at 11:41 p.m.

Police determined the Mr. Waite got into an argument with his girlfriend inside of a third floor apartment where he was stabbed. He made his way to the lobby and collapsed.

With the assistance of McKeesport Police, Cassandra Locke, 47, has been arrested and charged with homicide.
