The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: October 16-22.

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Robbery – 400 blk. Augusta St. – 10/17/17 at 9:58 PM – Victim called to report a male returned to his home and stole his phone when he tried to call the police. Officers who had responded before for the suspect, located and arrested the suspect (Robert Kemp). The phone was recovered on the hillside next to where Kemp was located.

Stolen vehicle – 1700 blk. Greenleaf St. – between 10/1/17 at Noon and 10/17/17 at 9:30 AM – Victims reported their red 2002 Jeep Liberty was stolen from a parking lot. The Jeep had a PA plate KFT4603.

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Lelia St. – between 10/2/17 at midnight and 10/22/17 at 2 PM – Victim reported a license plate was stolen from their motorcycle. The plate is from Texas (4XX449).

Theft from vehicle – Boggs Ave. & Jasper St. – 10/22/17 at 12:55 AM – Victim stated she saw a white male (25-30 years old, 5’10”, 180 pounds, medium build, bald/shaved head, scruffy beard, wearing gray hoodie, & black pants) inside her vehicle. When she confronted him he said it was a friend of his vehicle and he was retrieving his ring from it. The suspect then fled. The victim had a $5 gift card stolen from the vehicle.

Burglary – 500 blk. Griffin St. – 10/18/17 at 7:20 PM – Victim reported his home was burglarized and medication was stolen. There was no signs of forced entry.

Theft – 400 blk. Belonda St. – March 2017 to 10/21/17 at 1:20 AM – Victim reported he left a known person with his debit card and his account now shows a negative $70.

Burglary – 200 blk. Cairo St. – between 10/13/17 at 11 PM and 10/14/17 at noon – Victim reported her garage was broken into and 2 dirt bikes were stolen (2002 Honda CR250 & 1986 Yamaha it220). Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft – 100 blk. Greenbush St. – between 10/14/17 at midnight and 10/15/17 at midnight – Victim reported a known person used her debit card and withdrew $280 which was unauthorized.

Burglary – 100 blk. Beam Way – between 10 AM and 9:40 PM on 10/17/17 – Victim reported his garage door was forced open and his blue 2009 Yamaha TTR230 had been stolen. Amount of loss is unknown.

Burglary – 100 blk. Beam Way – between 10/16/17 at 9 AM & 10/17/17 at 8:30 AM – Victim reported his blue and white 1998 Yamaha YZ250 dirt bike was stolen. Amount of loss is $1,000

Arson – 300 blk. Merrimac St. – 10/17/17 at 6:24 PM – Arson detectives responded to a fire and requested by a Bureau of Fire lieutenant. Amount of damage is unknown.

Theft from vehicle - Kambach St. & Haberman Ave. – between 10/15/17 at 10 PM and 10/16/17 at 7:15 AM – Victim reported finding vehicle rear passenger side window smashed and his lunchbox and Kenwood built-in radio with digital screen was stolen. Amount of loss is $400.

South Shore (1921) – Nothing to Report (NTR)

Bon Air (1806) - (NTR)

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Stolen vehicle – 2000 blk. Josephine St. – 10/21/17 at 3 PM – Victim parked her car and when she returned it had been stolen. The vehicle is a blue 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. The vehicle was recovered by another police department a short time later.

Theft from vehicle – 2600 blk. S. 18th St. – 10/17/17 at 6:46 PM – Victim reported his vehicle had items stolen from it. A Crown Royal bag with iPhone 6 plus, DRE beats, & cash inside. Amount of loss is $950.

Burglary – 1400 blk. Eleanor St. – between 10/7/17 at 7 AM and 10/22/17 at 4 PM – Property owner reported someone broke into his property and stole the copper pipe and damaged the ceiling. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.

Burglary – 100 blk. Greeley St. – between 10/20/17 at Noon and 10/21/17 at 11:30 AM – Victims called to report someone entered into their home and stole a Sonos Play 5 speaker, PlayStation 4 with 4 controllers, & Dell laptop computer. Amount of loss is over $500.

Theft from vehicle – 3100 blk. Mission St. – between 10/17/17 at 4 PM and 10/18/17 at 6:45 AM – Victim reported his Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .40 caliber pistol was stolen from his vehicle. The victim stated his vehicle had been ransacked overnight. The amount of loss is unknown.

South Side Flats (1609 & 1702)

Burglary – 1700 blk. Riverside St. – 10/17/17 at 7:15 PM – Officers responded to a burglary in progress call at a local business. Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect changed his story once confronted with facts. Officers were able to enter the facility through a hole in the fence and discovered a vehicle similar to the suspects had the taillight removed and new marks/damage were on the taillight of the suspect. The suspect later admitted to stealing the taillight from the vehicle at the business and putting on his car. The suspect (Christian Cook) was taken to county jail. Officers also recovered a prohibited offensive weapon, a sawed-off shotgun, firearm, and taillight.

Theft of property lost or mislaid – 100 blk. Station Square Drive W. – Victim reported leaving her Michael wallet in a bathroom. The contents of the wallet are state ID, credit cards, insurance card, rewards cards, and coupon. Amount of loss is over $100.

Robbery – S. 18th St. & Wharton St. – 10/21/17 at 10:15 PM – Officers were called to a local hospital for an assault report. However, officers discovered after interviewing the victim he was robbed. The victim explained he had just exited a local bar/restaurant. Someone shouted and when he turned he was struck on the head. The victim then observed 3 males (one black, one white, & one Hispanic wearing all black clothes & all 6’1”). One suspect grabbed his phone when he tried calling 911 and kept smashing it. One grabbed his wallet and went through it taking credit card and debit card.

Aggravated assault – S. 10th St. & Bingham St. – 10/21/17 at 3:50 AM – Victims stated a white male attacked them with a sledge hammer. The white male is described as 6’, medium build, 190 pounds, bald, 40-45 years old, wearing white polo style shirt with a white bandage wrapped around his head. One of the victim’s had encountered this male earlier in the night at a local restaurant. They were involved in a disagreement with the victim and punched her in the head. Bystanders intervened and the victim did not report it to police. The other victim was helping the initial victim try and get a “taxi” when the assault with the sledge hammer took place. The injuries were to chipped teeth, severe contusion, and injury to right shoulder.

Robbery – 100 blk. S. 17th St. – 10/19/17 at 11:05 PM – Victims stated as they were exiting their car a black male approached them and demanded their money. When they told him they did not have any. He cocked the firearm and pointed at one of them. The one who had the gun now pointed at him insisted they had no money and gave over his keys. The suspect then ordered them out of the car. Officers located the vehicle and it was returned.

Theft – 100 blk. S. 19th St. – between 10/17/17 at 8 PM and 10/24/17 at 5:45 PM – Victim reported his Jamis Trail X2 mountain bike (blue) was stolen from his porch. Amount of loss is $365.

Theft from vehicle – 2000 blk. Sidney St. – between 10/16/17 at 8:30 PM and 10/17/17 at 8 AM – Victim called to report items stolen from her vehicle. The items were a jump starter for a vehicle and Aviator sunglasses. Amount of loss is over $250.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. S. 26th St. – 10/22/17 at 12:30 PM – Victim went to a service and when she returned her vehicle had items taken from it. The items were a Garmin GPS, vehicle manual, registration, & insurance.

Theft of property lost or mislaid – 2100 blk. E. Carson St. – 10/16/17 at 10 AM – Victim placed her phone on a garbage can in while she went to the bathroom. She realized she forgot the phone and when she returned it was gone. The iPhone was worth $700.

Allentown (1803) - (NTR)

Mount Oliver (1607)

Theft – 400 blk. Cathedral Ave. – between 9/27/17 and 10/18/17 at midnight – Victim reported giving a relative a check for $325. When the relative could not cash the check the victim gave the relative cash but the victim reports the check was cashed.

Arlington (1603)

Theft – Arlington Ave. & Spring St. – 10/20/17 at 3:30 PM – A known person stole the victims Metro PCS Android Cool pad. The amount of loss is $80.

Theft from vehicle – 3300 blk. Jane St. – between 10/18/17 at 8 PM and 10/19/17 at 6 AM – Victim reported his vehicle had been rummaged thru and his work Dell 6800 Computer had been stolen.

Theft – Syrian St. & Spring St. – between 10/16/17 at 3 PM and 10/17/17 at 3 PM – A service provider reported the theft of a couple hundred feet or foam cable. Amount of loss is unknown.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. Rothman St. – between 10/8/17 at 10:15 PM and 10/13/17 at 10:10 PM – Victim reported her University of Pittsburgh hockey jersey and goalie helmet were stolen from her vehicle overnight. Amount of loss is $710.

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Burglary – 2200 blk. Dellrose St. – 10/19/17 at 1:30 AM – Victim reported hearing an unusual noise. When she went downstairs she discovered forced entry was made through a window and items were stolen from her home. The items are: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and video games. Amount of loss is over $1,260.

Theft – 300 blk. Maytide St. – 10/17/17 at 8:30 PM – Victim reported $430 in cash stolen from her purse by a known person.

Aggravated assault – 2600 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 10/16/17 at 9:22 AM – Officers responded to a call of a male down who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers found the victim stabbed in the chest. The victim and witnesses gave officers a description of the male. The victim and suspect were involved in an argument which ended with the suspect stabbing the victim. A police department heard the description and had detained a suspect for identification. A witness had positively identified the detained person who stabbed the victim. The victim was not available due to being taken to a local hospital. The suspect (Hubert Bailey III) was arrested and taken to the county jail. Officers recovered a knife too.

Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. Linnview Ave. – between 10/21/17 at 8 PM and 10/22/17 at 9 AM – Victim reported his vehicle had items stolen from his vehicle. The items were a REI backpack, mess kit, camping stove, head lamp, buck knife, Columbia rain coat & pants, hammock set, first aid kit, and cash. Amount of loss is $855.

Criminal trespass – 2000 blk. Hazeldell St. – 10/19/17 at 3:48 PM – Officers responded to a burglary attempt which had just occurred. 911 had broadcast a description of the suspect. While responding to the call, officers recognized a male matching the description and detained him. Upon arrival, the victim stated she heard unknown person walk up her steps and pulled at the screen door to get into the home. The victim told the suspect to leave or she was calling the police. The victim then was transported to the suspect. She positively identified the male that was detained as the one who tried to gain access to her home. The suspect (Timothy Nash) was transported to the county jail.

Theft – 1700 blk. Leolyn St. – between 10/1/17 at midnight and 10/18/17 at midnight – Victims reported a neighbor took their male and returned it to them as open. The victims stated they still have mail missing.

Theft from vehicle – 2500 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 10/18/17 at 5:30 PM – Victim reported she parked her vehicle for a short time and when she returned her Hewlett Packard computer had been stolen from her vehicle. Amount of loss is $2,000.

Overbrook (3204, 3207)

Stolen vehicle – 2300 blk. Fairland St. – between 10/17/17 at 6 PM and 10/18/17 at 6:30 PM – Victim reported a blue 2015 Dodge Caravan was stolen. It was later found the vehicle was repossessed.

St. Clair (1606) - NTR

Theft – 100 blk. Charles St. – between 10/17/17 at 10:30 PM and 10/19/17 at 4:47 PM – Victim reported a known person had stolen $1,100 from her home.
