Nurses to hold services for veterans in South Park

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club will hold its 25th Veterans’ Day Memorial Service at the South Park nursing war memorials on Corrigan Drive at noon on Saturday, Nov. 11.

All nurses who served in the military will be remembered with a floral wreath placed at the nursing monuments. The program includes Bethel Mayor, Jack Allen; Reverend Jon Brzek, St. Joan of Arc Parish; bagpiper, Douglas Greer. and Sue Means, RN, Allegheny County Council.

Other dignitaries are: Clarence Hopson, deputy director of recreation, Citiparks and Retired Navy Captain James Sanford. Guest of honor is Elva Bertha, retired Army nurse who served in WW ll. A gun salute will be given by the South Park VFW 6664 with Commander Christopher Brown.

The public is welcome.
