A-Town Evening Senior group planning after work activities

October 3, 2017

Allentown Senior Center has been experimenting with evening programming for the ‘still working during the day’ gang and those who cannot attend daytime programming for a variety of other reasons.

The “A-Town Evening Seniors” Program has scheduled several evening activities for October, November and December.

An Oldies but Goodies Senior Prom will take place at the center from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $5. Food, door prizes, and lots of good music will be on hand. A prom gown isn’t necessary, but some are planning to dress for the event. Everyone else should dress for comfort, fun and dancing. Money is due by Oct. 6.

Call Allentown Senior Center at 412-481-5484 for more information or to register to attend.

A-Town Evening Seniors will also be hosting a Paint Party for $3 per person, includes snacks and supplies, on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m.

A trip to Pittsburgh Banjo Club is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 8-10 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #339 at 400 Cedar Avenue. There is no cover charge for this event.

A free Caroling/Decorating Pizza Party, with carols and fun, will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 6-8 p.m.

The group is planning a trip to the Phipps Holiday Magic Winter Garden and Light Show on Tuesday, Dec. 19 from 6-8:15 p.m. OPT will provide door-to-door service for all activities and trips.

Those aged 55 and over are welcome to come and join in the fun.
