Market House lists senior activities

Some of the activities planned at the center for September include:
A Line-Dancing Party will take place on Wednesday Sept. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Well-known line dancing teacher Roland Ford will lead the group in a fun filled afternoon of line dancing after lunch. This event is $5 per person, which includes lunch, coffee or tea, one and half an hours of line dancing instruction, and healthy snacks.
“Splashburg,”A free three-week Aqua Aerobics class will take place at the Oliver Bath House beginning Thursday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. If there is a good group going into October, they will continue with minimal fees. Register at the center.
Also on Sept. 7, Council President Bruce Kraus will be having an Ice Cream Social from 11:30 a.m.-noon at the Market House.
Storytelling Stroll: School of Hard Knocks with Venture Outdoors Again will take place on Sunday, September 10 from 10 a.m. – noon at South Park. Everyone has a story to tell: a happy memory, a sad circumstance, or a harrowing feat. Join David Bennett and a group of outdoor enthusiasts for a relaxing stroll through the woods with each stop providing a chance for a member of the group to share a story based on the outing’s theme.
The two- mile walks are over mostly flat terrain. The stories should be one to five minutes in length.
An OPT trip will be available if they have a group of eight or more or individuals can drive themselves.
The center will have a CCAC Line Dancing Class beginning Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 12:30-2 p.m. and continue for a total of 10 weeks. This is free to people 60 years or older.
Horseshoes, Pickleball, basketball and softball will be at Armstrong Park before lunch on Friday Sept. 15 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
A Basketball and Speed Walking Clinic will be held on Friday, Sept. 22 from 10-11:30 a.m. This event will be in preparation for a Staff vs. Senior’s Senior Games in October. More details will be available at a later date.
A Flu Shot Clinic will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-noon. This clinic is presented by Rite Aid and individual’s Medical Insurance will be billed. Everyone should bring their insurance information.
A Hoagie Sale Fundraiser in September from Triangle Hoagies. The money is due by September 18 and the delivery date is September 21. Stop in at the center for more information.
