For those who want to learn to cook healthy meals for themselves and their family on a budget, the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community has a new course.
“Cooking Matters” is a free course where participants will: cook nutritious and delicious food on a budget; get a free bag of groceries each week; discuss nutrition concepts and work with a chef to prepare healthy meals; take a trip to the grocery store to learn to shop for healthy and affordable food; and meet neighbors in class to share ideas for making small changes toward a healthier life.
“Cooking Matters” is a national program, the local sponsor is 412 Food Rescue. The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community will host the course on six Monday nights from 7-9:30 p.m. beginning August 7.
The course is limited to ten participants. Register by emailing mike@hotmetalbridge.com or calling the church office at 412-481-4010.
