Area seniors earn medals at Citiparks games

The Senior Games of Pittsburgh, sponsored by the Citiparks Healthy Active Living Department held its awards ceremony at Riverview Park last week.

Mt. Washington's Dee Stromberg earned numerous awards including Gold Medals for archery, Frisbee toss, softball throw, horseshoes, basketball spot shot, basketball 21; Paul Pfeuffer of Beechview took home a Gold Medal for Wii bowling; Jim Boyle of the South Side and Mt Washington took home Gold Medals in Kooshball, horseshoes, darts, Frisbee toss, shuffleboard, and miniature golf; and, Phyllis Hadduch of South Side, Mt. Washington and Allentown won Gold Medals in shuffleboard, horseshoes table tennis and darts.

Members of the Mount Washington and South Side Healthy Active Living Senior Community centers also medaled in other events.

The Senior Games, a program of the Citiparks Healthy Active Living Department, are held annually and are open to all adults over 50 years old residing in Allegheny County.
