City and county end duplication of services in complaint process

The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and the City of Pittsburgh Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections (PLI) announced effective immediately the agencies will eliminate what had been a duplication of services.
Specifically, PLI will service all City of Pittsburgh resident complaints dealing with vacant, open vandalized or abandoned buildings; high grass and weeds; rodent complaints; lots filled with rubbish and debris; and other exterior property maintenance concerns. In the past, both departments have serviced these types of complaints.
Residents may register complaints with the city by calling 311, or residents can file an on-line complaint with 311 at http://pittsburghpa.gov/311/form. Residents can track the PLI follow up of their complaints by going to https://pittsburghpa.buildingeye.com/building.
The ACHD will continue to respond to exterior property maintenance for municipalities outside the City of Pittsburgh to include vacant, open vandalized or abandoned buildings; high grass and weeds; rodent complaints; lots filled with rubbish and debris; and other concerns.
