Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh expands South Side hours
June 6, 2017
“The additional Sunday hours enable the library to increase the community’s access to services, programs and materials just in time for the start of Summer Reading,” said Mary Monaghan, assistant director of Neighborhood Libraries. “Summer reading is such an important part of library services and our commitment to education and literacy. Reading in general allows all ages to explore interests, discover new ones and connect with others, introducing people and experiences that are different from their own.”
CLP – South Side was chosen for the expanded hours by a team of library staff based on several factors, including geographic distribution of Sunday hours throughout the city and existing street traffic from other businesses on Sundays in the neighborhood.
