Police seek suspect in Brownsville Road shooting
Just before 1 p.m., on Sunday, May 14, Zone 3 police were alerted that a man had been shot multiple times and was near the intersection of Wynoka Street and Brownsville Road in Carrick with a good Samaritan.
Paramedics transported the victim to UMPC Mercy in stable but serious condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
Due to reports the shooter may be inside a residence in the 1100 block of Brownsville, SWAT was called.
The scene of the shooting was found to be in the first-floor hallway of that residence. An unoccupied maroon Hyundai Santa Fe parked outside of the residence was found to have multiple bullet holes.
Police cleared the parking lot of a nearby shopping center. A woman, man, and two young children were safely evacuated, but the shooter was not found.
Police determined the scene was safe at approximately 2:00 p.m. and the roadway was reopened by 2:45 p.m.
A long gun and pistol were found in plain view in a second-floor apartment.
The investigation is ongoing.
