County marriage license and passport office extends hours

Allegheny County’s marriage license and passport office will offer Saturday hours to accommodate requests for more convenience.

From April through October, the office will be open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The Saturday hours are in addition to the office’s regular hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Marriage license services are available to residents of any county who are intending to marry in Pennsylvania. The marriage license process includes completing an application and appearing at the marriage license office. No appointment is necessary.

For additional information and to start the marriage license process, go to http://www.allghenycounty.us/marriage. Applications will not be processed after 4 p.m. on weekdays or after 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Passport services are available to all U.S. citizens, regardless of county or state of residence. First-time applicants for a passport book or passport card must complete and submit an application in person, along with proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity and two photographs. Children’s applications have additional requirements.

Unlike other passport locations, no appointment is necessary at the Allegheny County passport office. For additional information and to start the passport application process, go to http://www.alleghenycounty.us/passport.

No appointment is necessary, and customers are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. The marriage license and passport office is on the first floor of the City-County Building at 414 Grant Street in Downtown Pittsburgh. From November through March, the county’s marriage license and passport office will be open until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in addition to its regular hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
