Mission Street Bridge to close for two weeks to vehicles

Pedestrians traffic prohibited certain hours from Jan. 17-20

The Mission Street Bridge is scheduled to close from January 16-31 to begin repair work.

The Mission Street Bridge at S.18th Street will close to vehicular traffic and partially close to pedestrian traffic on Monday, Jan. 16 for the first phase of minor repairs.

The closure is scheduled to end on January 31. A detour using Mission, Barry, Josephine, S.26th, Jane and S.18th streets will be posted.

Pedestrian traffic will be prohibited at times from approximately Tuesday, Jan. 17 through Friday, Jan. 20. The contractor, Michael Facchiano Contracting Inc., will make efforts to minimize interruptions to pedestrian traffic.

It’s anticipated, but not guaranteed, pedestrian closures will be limited to hours between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The second phase of the project, if needed, will occur in the spring and will not require a bridge closure.
