Knoxville man arrested after firing shots
On Monday morning, December 12, Zone 2 Officers were in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive when they heard several gunshots nearby.
Police learned a red Chevrolet Aveo occupied by a male, later identified as Donovan Devontenno, 26, of Knoxville, pulled up to an apartment in the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive. Devontenno exited his vehicle and shot approximately 10 rounds into an apartment. He then got back into his vehicle and drove inbound on Bedford.
Officers found the 22-year-old female resident of the apartment was uninjured. Police determined Devontenno may be located in Zone 3. While looking for Devontenno in Zone 3, police observed the red Chevrolet Aveo parked at S 13th Street and Sarah street in South Side.
Additional police arrived and took Devontenno into custody.
Officers found a handgun, marijuana and spent shell casings in plain view in the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, they found a backpack with more marijuana, crack cocaine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and more than $1,400 in cash.
Devontenno was taken to the Allegheny County Jail. His charges include discharge of a firearm into occupied structure, propulsion of missiles, firearms not to be carried without a license, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, possession of controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
