Free Christmas dinner at Hot Metal Bridge Faith

On Friday, Dec. 23 at noon the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is hosting a Christmas lunch that will be prepared and served by volunteers from the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh as part of their annual Mitzvah Day of volunteering. The lunch is free and open to everyone.

Later that evening at 7 p.m. the church will hold its annual Christmas Eve Eve worship service featuring carols, candle-lighting and a unique Christmas drama, “Baby Jesus on the Loose,” that imagines what would happen if the infant Jesus from a shopping mall’s nativity scene came to life and responded to the holiday frenzy around him.

A more meditative Christmas Eve service featuring music and prayer will be held at 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24.

The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is at the corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side. The 48 and 75 bus lines have stops nearby and parking for cars and bicycles is available on-site.

The church can be reached at 412-481-4010, via email to hotmetal@hotmetalbridge.com, or on the web at http://www.hotmetalbridge.com.
