Shop South Side during Small Business Saturday

The Historic South Side Business District is welcoming everyone to shop South Side on November 26, Small Business Saturday.

South Side’s countless restaurants, bars, and retail and specialty shops will be open for people of all ages and persuasions. Whether it’s time for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or later, South Side has an abundance of attractions to entertain and please.

Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to shop at small, local brick-and-mortar stores.

Founded by American Express Corporation in 2010, Small business Saturday is an annual American shopping event held on the Saturday after the Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year. It was first observed in Roslindale Village, Massachusetts, as a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which feature big box retail and e-commerce stores.

As consumers, the people of South Side are a key part in helping small businesses succeed.

“Our South Side businesses make it convenient to get the things we need to run our households and our businesses,” says South Side Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Candice Gonzalez. “On Small Business Saturday, we can show our support for the small businesses in our neighborhood by shopping and dining on the South Side.”
