Zone 3 crime community crime alerts for Oct. 17-23

 


The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: October 17-23.

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Theft from vehicle – Kambach & Judicial Sts. – between 10/17 at 7:30 PM and 10/18 at 8:15 AM – Victim states when he came out to his car, he discovered items were missing from the interior. He thinks he may not have locked the car the previous evening. Stolen was$2 in loose change, $50 gift card, tin of Altoids, and a bottle of Ralph Lauren cologne. Value $92.

Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. LaBelle St. between 10/17 at 9:30 PM and 10/18 at 8:00 AM – Victim believes he had locked the door to his car. When he came out to it in the morning, he found the console and glove box had been rifled through. Stolen was 2 Steeler tickets and a pair of Nike shoes. Total value $270.

Theft from vehicle – 400 blk. Oneida St. – between 10/17 at 5:00 PM and 10/18 at 6:00 AM – The victims, who are husband and wife report their two vehicles had been broken into and items were stolen. Vehicle #1 had approximately $5 in change taken. Vehicle #2 had a backpack, leather wallet, $50, 3 credit/debit cards and a blank starter check. No exterior damage was observed to either car.

Theft from person – 600 blk. Boggs Ave. – between 10/11 and 10/13 – Victim states he had wrecked his bicycle and was transported by medics to the hospital. When he arrived home, he was told the medics had returned his bicycle to his house but his medication was not with it. The victim told officer he takes his medication with him due to not trusting the three people he lives with have drug problems.

Robbery (business) – 100 blk. Secane Ave. – 10/21 at 1:30 PM – Victim was making a food delivery after receiving an order for takeout. When the driver drove the delivery location, he saw it was abandoned house. He stopped his car to call the phone number from which the order was placed, when the suspect approached him asking if he was making a food delivery. The driver said that he was. The suspect produced a handgun and took the receipt out of the driver’s hand and fled on foot.

South Shore (1921)

South Side Flats (1702, 1609)

Theft from vehicle – 2100 blk. Sarah St. – between 10/18 at 6:30 PM and 10/19 at 5:30 PM – Victim states she found her car door was open and discovered the interior was in disarray. Stolen was a black change purse which contained approximately $3 in change.

Theft from person – E. Carson & S. 12th Sts. – between 10/16 at 11:00 PM and 10/17 at 9:00 AM – Victim reports she lost her cell phone somewhere close to her residence. She used an app which showed it was close by. A check of that area showed negative results. $635 value.

Theft from person – 1800 blk. E. Carson St. – 10/18 between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM – Victims states she hung her fanny pack on the back of her chair while she was in the establishment and someone had stolen it. Inside was $400, a checkbook, make up, and a prescription.

Criminal Trespass – 2200 blk. Sarah St. – 10/22 between 2:40 AM and 2:50 –

Victim reports she had family staying at her residence overnight. Her sister wok up in the living room to find the suspect lying beside her on the blow up bed pulling the blanket off of her. She asked the male if he knew whose house he was in and replied that he didn’t. He left at time through the side door. The sister went back to sleep. The victim found a screen in the bedroom had been removed and believes the suspect came through that window. Nothing was found to be missing. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, tall and thin, with a crew cut.

Theft from person – Hot Metal and S. Water Sts. – 10/23 at 11:45 AM – Victim was selling roses near the intersection. When he looked, he saw the suspect grab a dozen roses and flee on foot. Value $12.

Burglary/stolen auto – 2000 blk. Sidney St. – 10/22 at 1600 – Victim reports suspect came through her kitchen door and took her car keys and took her car. She states she had been on her second floor most of the day and did not hear anyone make entry and she doesn’t leave her door open. NJ plate K31-BWH, silver Toyota Camry.

Theft from vehicle – 1700 Mary St. – between 10/22 at 9:00 PM and 10/23 at 11:15 AM – Victim states suspect made entry into his vehicle and stole a $25 gift card and a checkbook. No sign of forced entry.

Theft from vehicle – 1000 blk. Mt. Oliver St. – between 10/20 at 7:00 PM and 10/21 at 9:00 AM – Victim states suspect gained entry into her car and stole prescription medications belonging to another person. They were not narcotics. No sign of forced entry.

Bon Air (1806)

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Criminal mischief – 1800 St. Paul St. – between 10/18 at 8:00 PM and 10/19 at 7:30 AM – Victim states she found her car had been rifled through. The arms were broken off for the turn signal and windshield wipers.

Theft from vehicle/criminal mischief – 2000 blk. Gregory St. – between 10/18 at 6:15 PM and 10/19 at 7:40 AM – Victim noticed both of her car doors were ajar. Suspect stole $3 in loose change and a charging port. Value $23.

Theft from person – 2800 blk. Mary St. – between 10/19 and 10/23 – Victim states she found her bicycle missing from where she locked it up behind her apartment. The bike lock had been cut. Value $300.

Allentown (1803)

Terroristic threats/aggravated assault/simple assault – 10/19 at 1:00 PM – Victims state they had to fire an employee. The former employee showed up asking to speak with victim #1, to which it escalated quickly to shouting. Victim #2 was present and the suspect screamed at them that he was going to kill them. The suspect put his hands around the neck of Victim #2, choking him. Victim #1 intervened and both victims retreated inside the building. Although both stated they were not injured, they both are in fear for their lives from the suspect.

Burglary – 800 blk. Freeland St. – 10/21 between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM – Victim states suspect forced entry into her residence through the front door and rummaged through the drawers in the bedrooms. Nothing was observed to be taken at this time.

Mount Oliver (1607)

Arlington (1603)

Theft from person – 400 blk. Dawes St. – 10/20 between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM – Victim stated he allowed a friend to stay overnight. He found his friend/suspect gone along with 3 different prescriptions of his.

Arlington Heights (1604)

Aggravated assault/recklessly endangering another person – 3000 blk. Arlington Ave. (shooting) – 10/18 between 6:45 PM and 6:51 PM – Officers responded for a shots fired call. Once on scene, they found shell casings near a dumpster in the area. While on scene, a victim was located on 27th St. who had been shot in the chest. He stated he had been at the location and was shot at by unknown suspects. Another victim was located on Arlington Ave. She stated she was driving with her child in the rear seat when her car was struck by bullets. No one in this car was injured.

Beltzhoover (1809)

Aggravated assault (shooting) – 100 blk. Industry St. – 10/16 at 10:35 PM – Officers responded to the report of a male shot. The victim, who was shot once in the right leg, stated he was on his steps of his residence when the suspect exited a vehicle which had pulled up, walked up behind him and fired several shots. The victim did not know the suspect. He was transported to the hospital for his injury.

Burglary – 400 blk. Cedarhurst St. – between 5/6 and 10/21 – Victim reports suspect gained entry into his residence. Taken was a weed trimmer, chainsaw, lap top, check book, and a bank card.

St. Clair (1606)

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Theft from vehicle – 1900 blk. Westmont St. – 12:45 PM – Victim reports two suspects checking door handles had stolen items from her car. She has surveillance cameras and observed this. She said she had left her door unlocked. Stolen is loose change and CD’s.

Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. Meredith St. – 10/16 at 11:00 PM – Victim states she looked outside to see someone inside his vehicle. She approached the suspect who was a BF, and yelled at her. The suspect fled into a maroon car and drove off. Loose change was found to be missing. No forced entry was observed.

Stolen auto – Amanda & Wynoka Sts. – 10/16 between 8:45 PM and 9:00 PM – Victim reports her car was taken. She said the car was left unlocked and the keys were in the console. PA plate HYV6602, red 2002 Ford Taurus.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. E. Cherryhill St. – between 10/17 at 8:00 PM and 10/18 at 8:00 AM – Victim reports his money clip was taken out of his girlfriend’s unlocked car. Along with $200, a bank card, state ID and firearm permit were stolen.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. The Boulevard – between 10/21 at 9:00 PM and 10/22 at 8:00 AM – Victim reports suspect gained access to the inside of his van and took a bag containing welding tools and gloves. Victim states he may have left a door unlocked.

Stolen auto/traffic violations – 2400 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 10/21 between 2:30 Am and 6:41 AM – Victim states her neighbor called her and told her that her son (neighbor’s son) was inside of her (victim) car. They went outside to see the 20 y.o. suspect was “looking for his cell phone”. The suspect had been at her house at various times throughout the day with her son and believing this went back to bed. A couple hours later she found her keys and car were stolen. She notified her neighbor and text the suspect. The suspect did reply to where the car was parked and where the keys were. The car had damage to it. The victim states she did not give permission to the suspect to drive her car. A warrant will be obtained for the suspect along with multiple traffic charges.

Overbrook (3204, 3207)

St. Clair (1606)

Knoxville (3001)

Theft from person – 200 blk. Suncrest St. – between 10/15 and 10/17 – Victim reports she was packing to move and had left her brother finishing packing. She later realized a pair of her daughter’s Jordon 12 shoes were missing. She believes her brother took them due to finding a pair of Jordon’s for sale on the site “Offer Up”. Value $140.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. Alice St. – between 10/18 at 7:00 PM and 10/19 at 7:15 AM – Victim reports she found her car had been rifled through. Stolen was $3 in loose change and her daughter’s birth certificate. No forced entry was observed.

Aggravated assault (shooting) – 200 blk. Mathews Ave. – Officers responded to shots fired into a residence. The victim had been grazed in his head while he was inside of his residence. He, his wife and a 3 y.o. child were all inside the residence when the suspect fire into the residence. Only he was injured.

Theft from person – 300 blk. Jucunda St. – 10/28 between 7:58 PM and 8:08 PM – Victim reports he was walking to his house from a neighbor’s house and saw two suspects holding his property in their hands while fleeing. Stolen were Halloween decorations; a globe light, inflatable Frankenstein, and 3 paper ghost decorations.
