The Allentown CDC, in cooperation with Pittsburgh EMS and UPMC, will host a Community CPR Training Initiative program on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. at 753 E. Warrington Avenue, Allentown.

The free 30-minute course will focus on compression only CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) use. It is not a certification course, but will give participants the skills they need to save a life.

The goal of the course it to build a more resilient community that can initiate care in medical emergencies prior to EMS arrival and improve the ultimate outcomes of patients suffering from medical emergencies, specifically cardiac arrest.

Program participation is limited. To RSVP, contact Judy Hackel at 412-381-0335.
