Zoning code change would allow features in setbacks

 


The City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission has initiated a Zoning Code Text amendment related to Features Allowed within Setbacks.

The proposed amendment would permit minor building additions and certain accessory structures as Administrator’s Exceptions, as per Code Section 925.06.G. Accessibility ramps located within setbacks would be permitted as of right.

A copy of the proposed text amendment may be reviewed online at http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/notices and at the Zoning Office on the 3rd floor of 200 Ross St., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed text amendments on: Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1:30 p.m. City Council Chambers 414 Grant Street, 5th Floor

In order to speak or present information to City Council at the public hearing, speakers should call Mary Beth Doheny in the City Clerk’s Office at 412-255-2138 prior to the hearing date in order to have their name placed on the list. Testimony is limited to three minutes.

Those who do not register in advance, will have the opportunity to address City Council after the list of registered speakers has been exhausted, and will be given one minute of testimony.
