State approves grant for S.S. greenway project

State Rep. Harry Readshaw, D-Allegheny, today announced the approval of a state grant for a South Side project.

Mr. Readshaw said the Commonwealth Financing Authority approved $73,500 in Greenways, Trails and Recreation funding for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy for the 21st Street Greenway project.

The conservancy plans to improve the 21st Street corridor in Pittsburgh to improve access points to a neighboring park and complete green infrastructure retrofits. This project specifically covers the planning and design, which includes hydrologic and transportation engineering as well as landscape design and construction drawings for the entire 21st Street enhancement.
