The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: June 26, 2016 thru
July 3, 2016.
Duquesne Heights (1911)
Robbery – 200 blk. Plymouth St. – 7/1 between 1:29 AM and 1:31 AM – Reporting person states she heard a knock at her door. She was expecting her cousin and looked out the peep hole. Although she couldn’t see the suspects clearly, she didn’t recognize them. The victim/cousin came to the residence and saw two BM suspects at the residence. She was grabbed by the arm and was dragged outside where the suspects demanded money, one had a silver revolver. She gave them $50 from her pockets and the suspects fled on foot.
Theft from person – 400 blk. Augusta St. – between 6/29 and 7/1 - Victim states a known suspect took medication which was inside her house.
Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)
Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. Boggs Ave. – between 6/29 at 11:23 PM and 6/30 at 7:50 AM – Victim states he noticed his vehicle door was unlocked and medication was taken from the center console.
Burglary – 70 blk. Ruth St. – between 6/17 and 6/20 (reported 6/28) – Victim states he had hired two people for a construction job. He later found materials missing from the work site. Missing is 2 roofing nailers, roofing shingles, roofing coil, 2 drills, 1 saw. He received texts from a girlfriend of one of the suspects who said the nailers were at a pawn shop. The victim did locate them there. Total value at this time $500.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Virginia Ave. – 7/1 between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM – Victim states his license plate was stolen while parked in a lot. PA plate JLN2688.
Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Secane Ave. – between 6/30 and 7/1 – Victim found his vehicle was entered and rifled through by unknown suspect. Stolen were 2 passports and $20 in quarters.
South Shore (1921)
South Side Flats (1609, 1702)
Theft from person – 2700 blk. Larkins Way – between 6/23 and 6/27 – Victim reports her Xbox was stolen by a known suspect. Unk value.
Theft from vehicle – S. 23rd & Carey Way – 6/28 between 6:30 PM and 7:45 PM – Victim states someone gained access to the inside of her car, possibly unlocked, as no forced entry was observed. Stolen was a wallet, teacher photo ID, various store credit cards, driver’s license, unendorsed checks written to the victim.
Theft from person – 1300 blk. Sarah St. – 6/27 between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM – Victim states two delivery men were delivering an appliance to his residence. He and his wife along with the two delivery men were the only one’s inside the residence. After they left, victim discovered $170 was missing from a dish on the dining room table. The store was notified of the theft.
Robbery – S. 14th & Sarah Sts. – 6/27 between 10:00 PM and 10:03 PM – 3 victims report they were walking to one victim’s apartment when they were approached by the suspect. He asked them for a cigarette and they ignored him. He made a comment to them, then produced a black pistol and took their property. Taken were $85, debit card and license, Discover card, Visa card, school ID and brown purse.
Burglary – 20 blk. S. 10th St. – between 6/24 and 6/27 – Victim reports someone took $50 from inside of his travel bag while it was in his hotel room.
Theft from person – Access device fraud – 1500 blk. E. Carson St. – 6/26 between 1:00 AM and 5:21 AM – Victim had dropped his debit card after making a purchase and was apparently picked up by the suspect. Unauthorized purchases were made totaling $247.
Theft from vehicle – 2800 blk. Sidney St. – 7/1 between 5:30 PM and 10:12 PM – Victim states she had parked her car in a public garage. When she returned to her car, when she opened the door, the window glass fell out. She discovered a green and tan clutch wallet was missing. It had been sitting on top of the console. In it was store discount cards.
Theft from person – 2500 blk. Sarah St. – 7/2 between 12:30 AM and 8:00 AM – Victim states someone had stolen 3 dresses which had been delivered through USPS. Value $40.
Theft from vehicle (gun) – S. 16th & Bingham Sts. – between 6/30 at 11:00 PM and 7/1 at 9:00 AM – Victim states he parked his car and later returned to find items had been stolen. Black Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with 2 13 round magazines were taken from the center console, black Dell laptop computer, black Blackhawk holster. Total value $1370.
Theft form person – 50 blk. S. 19th St. – between 3/1 and 7/1 – Victim reports jewelry was taken from her residence possibly from s known suspect who she allowed to stay off and on during this period of time.
Aggravated assault – 1700 blk. E. Carson St. – 7/2 at 1:45 AM – Victim states she was inside a bar with her boyfriend and was attacked by his ex-girlfriend. The suspect had bitten off the tip of her thumb which required immediate medical attention.
Robbery/simple assault – E. Carson & S. 19th Sts. – 7/3 between 12:20 AM and 12:30 AM – The victim states she was walking when she and a group of BF’s exchanged words. She continued to walk away from them when she was grabbed by her hair. The group pulled her to the ground where they kicked and punched her. During the attack, her cell phone was removed from her hand along with her debit card.
Theft from person – 1500 blk. E. Carson St. – 7/2 between 10:45 PM and 11:30 PM – Victim states his cell phone had fallen out of his pocket. He phoned the cell phone and the male who answered it stated he wanted a reward for finding it. He hasn’t spoken to the male to set up a meeting place.
Stolen auto – 1900 blk. Larkins Way – between 7/1 and 7/3 – Victim reports her car was stolen. There was an emergency key inside the car.

Theft from vehicle – 200 blk. E. Carson St. – between 7/1 at 7:00 PM and 7/2 at 3:50 AM – Victim reports items stolen from within his car. No signs of forced entry. Black wallet, PA driver’s license, social security card, 2 bank cards, and a black smartphone.
Theft from person – 100 blk. Station Square Dr. – 7/1 between 5:10 PM and 5:30 PM – Victim reports his property was stolen while left unattended on a bench. Stolen was a Valhalla bag, wallet, credit cards, debit cards, driver’s license, Rayban sunglasses, and a pair of Beats headphones. Value $405.
South Side Slopes (1608, 1706)
Burglary – 1400 blk. Eleanor St. – 6/29 between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM – Victim came home to find the basement door forced open and his bedroom window broken. Inside, he and another victim found multiple items missing. Taken were iPhone speaker, Mac air book, yellow and white Adidas studio headphones, Adidas watch, Fossil watch, Tommy Hilfiger watch, 2-Ray Ban sunglasses, ASUS laptop, Xbox 1, 3-xbox 1 controllers, 8-xbox 1 games, Beats studio headphones,3-G Shock watches, Ciara watch, bead bracelets, polo cologne, Chanel cologne, Zara perfume. Total value $6070.
Robbery of a motor vehicle/simple assault/theft from person/recklessly endangering another person – 2100 blk. Vermont Way – 7/3 at 11:30 PM – Victim #1 was waiting for his friend in the rear of the residence. Victim #2 came out to him and they were both approached by the suspect who had stepped out from between two residences. The suspect pointed a black and silver hand gun at them and told them to get on the ground. They complied. The suspect told them not to do anything stupid and placed the gun to victim #1’s neck. The suspect then got into victim #1’s car and drove off. V #1 had left his wallet in the center console which contained $250 and a cell phone. He also had a firearm in the glove box. Neither victims recognized the suspect.
Theft from person – 2100 blk. Mission St. – 6/30 between 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM – Victim reports someone entered his tent and took a tattoo kit and a prescription. Value $116.
Theft from vehicle - 10 blk. Renwick St. - between 6/28 at 7:00 PM and 6/29 at 11:00 AM – Victim states while her car was in a neighbor’s possession for repair, a Samsung television was stolen from the trunk and her registration plate was taken. PA plate JVH6642. Total value $300.
Theft from person – 700 blk. Ceres Way – 6/30 between 4:00 PM and 4:20 PM – Victim states he placed a $100 from his sock onto the resident’s television while he went to the bathroom. He returned to find it gone.
Burglary – 300 blk. Dengler St. – between 6/30 at 8:00 PM and 7/1 at 9:00 AM – Victim states someone forced open the detached garage door breaking the mechanism and stole a 1999 Yamaha YZ 250 dirt bike and a Yamaha YZF 400 dirt bike. Value $4800.
Arlington Heights (1604)
Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)
Robbery/simple assault – 2000 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 6/28 between 11:00 PM and 11:17 PM – Victim states he was sitting on his front steps when a group of juveniles came out of the convenience store and were approaching him. He recognized two from the area. He had heard them talking among themselves about robbing him and one suspect, described as stocky, 12-16 y.o., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans produced a black handgun and told him to take everything out of his pockets. He the items to the suspect. The suspect struck the victim on the back of the head with the butt end of the handgun. The group then fled outbound on Brownsville Rd.
Robbery/simple assault – 1700 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 6/28 between 7:55 PM and 8:05 PM – 10 y.o. victim states he was playing catch in the church lot when he was approached by 3 males, 10-12 years of age, one of which snatched his cellphone from his hand. The victim’s sister grabbed it back off the suspect. The suspect hit the victim on the side of his head and he fell to the ground. The suspects fled.
Theft from person – 1600 blk. Leolyn St. – between 6/30 and 7/1 – Victim reports someone took her Coleman lawnmower was stolen from her back yard. Value $150.
Burglary – 200 blk. Gilboa Way – between 6/30 and 7/1 – Victim reports a pressure washer was stolen from his shed. Both locks were on the door, not broken or damaged. Value $300.
Recklessly endangering another person/aggravated assault – 2800 blk. Saw Mill Run – Victim reports he might have cut off another car while driving. He pulled into a parking lot of a business and got out to go inside. At that time is when a black female passenger started to get out of the car and shot 3 times in the direction of the victims. 3 shell casings were found at this location, nothing was found to have been struck.
Overbrook (3204, 3207)
St. Clair (1606)
Burglary – 500 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 6/29 between 3:50 AM and 3:52 AM – Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a business. The reporting person stated she heard someone moving around inside the business, and what she described as a sledgehammer sound. When she had come outside, she heard a door slam. Officers made contact with the owner, who in turn notified his day manager. The day manager told him he was at the business, sleeping due to having a fight with his girlfriend. A check inside by officers showed the cash register till had been removed and the cash boxes from the poker machines had been pried open with all the money removed. The owner told officers no one should be inside the business and the machines had not been tampered with. The day manager was arrested for the burglary.
Theft from person – 200 blk. Knox Ave. – 6/29 between 8:20 Am and 8:45 AM – Victim reports her Toro lawnmower was removed from her porch. Value $300.
Theft from person – 300 blk. Suncrest St. – 6/30 between 12:00 PM and 8:30 PM – Victim reports her kids’ bicycles were taken from their front porch. Value $210.
Theft from person/bad checks/forgery – 100 Rentz Way – between 6/27 and 6/28 (reported 7/1) –Victim thought she had misplaced her wallet. Her bank contacted her to advise someone attempted to cash one of her checks from an account that had been closed for 4 years. She realized her wallet had been stolen and it had been one of the checks she kept inside her wallet. She said she always has people over and isn’t sure who had taken her wallet.
