Picnics, art and Kennywood on Market House's calendar

Seniors at the South Side Market House Senior Center can enjoy art classes, a summer picnic, Kennywood and more during July.

An all ages Art Class will be held at the Market House on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 p.m. July projects include: July 6, Clay Flower Magnets, $2 a magnet; July 13, Nautical Cord Bracelets, $5; July 20, Tie Dye Day, $5 per item; and, July 27, Recycled Flower Bud Vases.

Seniors are welcome to bring their friends, kids, grandkids to join in an afternoon of fun and a snack. Sign up in advance by calling 412-488-8404.

Kennywood Day for the senior center is Tuesday, July 13 from 5-9 p.m. Admission is $16 for people 55 and over. Market House staff will be at the pavilion area to grill hot dogs with chips and drinks.

The Market House Senior Center Summer Picnic is on Monday, July 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverview Park. Cost is $10 per person. Menu for the picnic includes: ribs, fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, fruit, drinks, coffee and tea.

Come to the picnic and enjoy playing water balloon toss, darts, Frisbee, bocce, lawn darts, corn hole, and bingo. There will be a summer gift basket auction and door prizes.

The Senior Games Awards Celebration will also be held at Riverview Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 21.
