Beltzhoover shooting is under investigation


The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crime Unit is investigating a double shooting in Beltzhoover on Thursday, April 14.

Zone 3 Officers and Paramedics were called to Red’s Bar in the 300 block of E Warrington Avenue for the report of shots fired near midnight. Upon arrival, two victims were outside of the bar. One male victim in his 20s was found in the front entrance of the bar with at least one gunshot wound.

He was transported to UPMC Mercy in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after 2 a.m. Another male victim in his 40s sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh. He was transported to UPMC Mercy where he was in stable condition. 

According to police, the shooting occurred inside of the bar. No suspect description was available.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at 412-323-7161.
