Columbia Gas to replace pipe on Leticoe Street

Starting this spring, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Inc. will upgrade more than 2,360 feet of underground steel pipe to state-of-the-art plastic pipe on Leticoe Street in the South Side Slopes.

“As construction and digging season begin, we remind everyone April is National Safe Digging Month and to call 811 before you start any digging project – large or small,” Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania Construction Leader Nicole Giunta said. “Call 811 at least three days before starting any digging project and underground utilities will be marked at no cost, which keeps our communities safe and helps prevent the striking of buried utility lines.”

Exact working hours differ for each project, and communities will receive more detailed information once start dates approach. Projects scheduled to start in Allegheny County this spring. All project work will last through the fall, weather permitting.

All company and contract employees have photo ID badges identifying them as Columbia Gas employees or contractors. Customers are welcome to ask for ID before allowing anyone into their home, or can call 1-888-460-4332 for Columbia Gas employee verification.
