The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: March 28, 2016 thru April 3, 2016.

Note – highlighted robberies are similar in firearm and vehicle used/described. Similar to Part 1 Crimes Report March 3/21 thru 3/27:

* Robbery (firearm) – E. Warrington and Beltzhoover Aves. – 3/25 at 2:48 AM

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Theft from Vehicle – 200 blk. Fingal St. – between 3/27 at 12:00 PM and 3/28 at 2:00 PM – Victim parked her car in front of her residence and later discovered it had been broken into. Stolen was $1 in change and the car’s insurance and registration card.

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Burglary – 400 blk. Norton St. – 4/1 between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM – Victim received a call from a neighbor that someone was prowling around her residence. Upon her arrival she discovered that her home had been ransacked. There were no signs of forced entry. Missing were a television, play station games, gold necklace, and a ring. Total value $1170.

South Shore (1921)

South Side Flats (1702, 1609)

Theft from Person (and recovery) – 2300 blk. Carey Way – 11/4/15 – Victim states her bicycle had been stolen, not reported. She discovered her bicycle had been posted on Craigslist. She made arrangements with the seller for the bicycle to be returned. She located it in a park, directed by the seller. Victim did not want to pursue charges due to recovering her bike. Victim notified Craigslist of the incident.

Theft from Person – 400 blk. S. 27th St. – 3/28 between 4:30 PM and 11:30 PM – Victim states when she arrived at work she placed her purse in a locker, unlocked. When she went to the locker later, she discovered someone had taken $550 cash, from her wallet.

Stolen Auto – Birmingham Bridge – 3/30 between 11:10AM and 11:50 AM – Victim states he parked his car within the construction zone, the site where he was working. He returned to discover his car was gone. He did leave his car unlocked and a spare key hidden under the car. PA plate JBN1333, 1998 red, Honda CRV.

Theft from Person – 100 blk. S. 18th St. – 3/31 between 1:30 Am and 1:45 AM – Victim states her cellphone was somehow stolen from her. It was pinged throughout the South Side area. Value $300.

Theft from Vehicle – S. 12th & Muriel Sts. – 3/22 between 7:00 PM and 11:30 PM (Reported 3/31/16) – Victim noticed his lock on his car door appeared to be jammed. He noticed a cigar holder was missing. Unk. Vlue.

Theft from Vehicle – 1900 blk. Larkins Way – 3/31 between 1:00 PM and 1:05 PM – Victim states he parked his car with the doors unlocked and a rear window down. When he returned to it, he discovered his wallet was missing from the center console area.

Theft from Person – E. Carson at S. 14th Sts. – 4/1 between 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM – Victim states she parked her bicycle at this location and when she returned, discovered it was gone.

Theft from Vehicle – 30 blk. S. 16th St. – between 3/30 at 9:45 PM and 4/1 at 8:45 AM – Victim states he discovered his GPS was missing from his car along with charging cords. Value $100.

Bon Air (1806)

Stolen Auto – 1000 blk. Saw Mill Run Blvd. – between 3/27 at 10:00 PM and 3/28 at 10:00 AM – The victim reports her car was disabled at the location. She got a ride to her residence and was later made aware that a female was claiming on Facebook that the victim’s car was hers. A description of the car was BOLO’d and was sighted in the Zone 6 area. A traffic stop was performed and one arrest was made.

Theft from Vehicle – 400 blk. Coniston Ave – between 3/29 at 6:00 PM and 3/30 at 7:15 AM – Victim reports he parked his car in his driveway overnight. In the morning, he discovered his car had been broken into with the center console having been removed. He states nothing of worth was inside the console.

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Theft from Vehicle – Arlington Ave. at 18th St. – 3/24 between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM – Reporting person states his iPad which is owned by his employer was taken out of his saddle bag on his parked motorcycle. Later, the iPad was pinged at a location on Warrington Ave. A search warrant was executed and the iPad was recovered, but damaged.

Theft from Person – S. 15th & Pius Sts. – between 4/1 at 10:00 PM and 4/2 at 3:00 AM – Victim reports she was attending a party and discovered her purse was gone. In the purse were various forms of ID and personal information cards and $50.

Allentown (1803)

Robbery (firearm) 10 blk. Millbridge St. – 3/28 at 7:40 AM – Victim states she was walking on Millbridge toward Warrington Ave. when she heard someone running up behind her. She turned around and saw the suspect pointing a black rifle at her, attempting to take her purse. As the suspect was pulling her purse the victim began yelling. The suspect dropped the purse, fled and got into a charcoal colored sedan. Suspect is described as a BM, between 18 and 23 years old.

Theft from Vehicle – 900 blk. Excelsior St. – 3/28 between 7:30 Am and 10:00 AM – Victim states he parked his vehicle outside of the location and upon returning to his car, discovered it had been rifled through. $12 in change and a prescription had been taken. The victim did not see any forcible entry to his car.

Robbery – 300 blk. Millbridge St. – 3/29 at 7:08 PM – Victim reports her purse was snatched from her as she was walking to a friend’s house. Taken was the purse, $42, and two notebooks. The suspect is described as a BM, early 20’s, wearing an orange/blue hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes. The suspect fled on foot.

Theft from Residence – 700 blk. E. Warrington Ave. – 3/30 between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM – Victim states she gave permission to a known person to come and take a washer and dryer. When the victim came home, she discovered her television was gone. No forced entry. Value $400.

Robbery (firearm) – 200 blk. Millbridge St. – 4/2 at 12:10 AM – Victim states he was working on a car when he was approached by a BM suspect with and “assault rifle”. The suspect demanded money to which the victim did not have any on him. The victim challenged the suspect, to which the suspect chambered a round into the rifle and pointed the rifle toward the victim as he took cover from a house. The suspect continued to point the rifle at the victim for a period of time before fleeing on foot. The suspect is described as being between 13-16 years old, wearing a grey hoodie, small thin build, approximately 5’5”, 130’, short black hair.

Knoxville (3001)

Aggravated Assault – 800 blk. Georgia Ave. – 3/28 at 7:19 PM – Officers responded to a fight call with a hand gun being brandished. Officers saw a female fitting the description of being in possession of the firearm, and detained her. After interviewing the victims, it was determined this suspect had pistol whipped a 12 year old victim. Another suspect would be receiving a summons for their involvement. Upon further investigation, this appears to be an ongoing neighbor dispute.

Theft from Person – 100 blk. Rochelle St. – between 9/1/15 and 3/30/16 – Victim states he last saw the registration plate on his old car and thought he got rid of it. He received a traffic summons in the mail from Maryland for a violation on 2/18/16. He was unaware someone had possession of his plate.

Burglary – 80 blk. Knox Ave. – between 1/15/16 and 3/23/16 – The victim states he and his husband were not in the apartment for a period of time. He later discovered that during that time, someone came into the apartment through windows next to a fire escape and took a Play Station 4, which was rented from Rent-a-Center. Unk. Value.

Theft from Residence – 200 blk. Reifert St. – between 3/18 at 12:00 PM and 4/1 at 9:15 AM – Victim states he had placed a television into the basement of the apartment building and when he went to retrieve it two weeks later, it was gone. Value $400.

Theft from Person – 400 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 4/1 between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM – Victim states he gave the known suspect $12 to purchase alcohol and the keys to his residence so she could get back inside. The suspect did not return.

Beltzhoover (1809)

Stolen Auto (recovered) – 90 blk. Climax St. – 4/3 between 3:00 AM and 3:45 AM – Victim states she started her car to warm it up with the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked. She went back inside and fell asleep and later discovered her car was gone. A short time after the victim was reporting her car stolen, Zone 1 found her car wrecked near the casino. It should be noted that a total of $2560 was discovered in the wrecked car by Zone 1.

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Theft from Person – 10 blk. Maytide St. – between 2/28 and 3/28 – Victim states she has been noticing mail has been missing after being delivered.

Robbery – 2000 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 4/1 at 1:10 AM – Victim states he left the Unimart at 1926 Brownsville Rd. when he heard someone behind him asking him questions. He ignored this male and continued walking when he felt something sharp against his neck. Someone else also grabbed the back of his coat. The victim turned and saw one suspect as being a WM, 30-40 years old, about 5’10”, 165’, with scruffy facial hair. He kicked this suspect in the groin and broke free and tried to call 911. The other suspect, a BM, 30-40 years old, 6’, 180’, and clean shaven. This second suspect tried to prevent him from calling 911 to which the victim began to swing his cane at both suspects. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Burglary – 40 blk. Calhoun St. – 3/30 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – Victim states she discovered items stolen from her residence. Forced entry possibly through a side window. Items taken were a Play Station, PS4 games, Wii, Wii game CD’s, and an iPod. Total value $1,500.

Robbery – 1500 blk. Brownsville Rd. – 4/2 at 3:56 AM – Victim states he was walking home when he was approached by a BM suspect who put a black hand gun to his head and demanded his wallet. The victim showed he did not have any money in his wallet and the suspect fled toward Nobles Lane. The suspect is described as approximately 5’10”, 170’, clean shaven, wearing a black shirt with a silver or gold type badge on the left chest area, and black pants.
