Mt. Washington SWAT call ends peacefully

 


At approximately 9 p.m. on Feb. 10 Pittsburgh police were sent to the 200 block of Merrimac Street in Mt. Washington for a domestic call.

According to police, a male suspect - later identified as Dayvon Tyrie Pack, 24, of Allentown - was arguing with a woman inside of a residence. The suspect gained access to a firearm and threatened to harm her.

The woman and others inside of the residence were able to safely leave and flee to another location. 

When Pack refused to exit the home, SWAT was called. Pack peacefully surrendered after SWAT deployed gas canisters into the house. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Pack is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, and possessing instruments of crime.
