The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: January 25, 2016 to January 31, 2016:

Duquesne Heights (1911)

Mt. Washington (1903, 1914, 1915, 1807)

Theft from Person – 400 blk. Norton St. – between 12/22/15 at 8:00 AM and 12/22/15 at 7:00 PM (reported 1/26/16) – Victim states a package that was delivered had been taken. Leaf blower and trimmer, $278.

Criminal Trespass – 100 blk. Sycamore St. – 1/26 at 11:00 AM – Security discovered that someone gained access to the location. Nothing was discovered, no observed signs of forced entry. This is an ongoing issue.

Burglary – 200 blk. Jasper St. – on 1/26 between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM – Victim came home to find her burglar alarm going off. It was discovered a window was broken and pushed out for someone to gain access to the inside. A lamp was broken from the suspect gaining access to the inside. No items were found to be missing at this time.

Robbery – Harwood and Kathleen Sts. – 1/27 at 8:20 PM – Victim states someone tried to rob him by demanding his money and displaying a gun. The victim fled to another area where he called for police. While officers searched the area for the suspect, the victim observed him get into a car parked in the same parking lot as him. The officers approached the suspect and he was positively ID’d as the same person who tried to rob him. Suspect: Tony McDonough, 28 Y.O., WM from Boggs Ave.

Burglary – 100 blk. Ruth St. – 1/29 at 11:30 AM – Victim states she left her residence for 40 minutes and when she returned she discovered a firearm and cash missing.

Theft from Auto – 10 blk Boggs Ave. 1/27 at 11:40 AM – Victim states the registration plate was stolen from his car. PA plate: JHX-5719

Stolen Vehicle – 70 blk Leila St. – 1/18 at 7:00 PM – Victim states her 2014 Kia Soul was stolen from in front of her house. PA plate 05487PD.

South Shore (1921)

South Side Flats (1702, 1609)

Theft from Person – 30 blk. S. 26th St. – between 1/22 at 8:20 AM and 1/25 at 5:40 PM – Victim discovered her bicycle, which was locked to a bike rack was stolen. The front tire was left locked to the rack and the rest of the bike was taken.

Theft from Auto – 100 blk. S. 16th St. – between 1/22 at 3:00 PM and 1/25 at 2:30 PM – Victim found a door to her car was ajar. She discovered the approximately $5 in change was taken from the ashtray area. No forced entry observed.

Theft from Person – 60 S. 11th St. – 1/25 at 3:00 PM – Victim believes he dropped his phone in an Uber transport car. The phone was pinged to a location outside the city.

Theft from Auto – 21st St at Sarah St. – between 1/31 at 7:00 PM and 1/31 at 2:25 AM – Victim discovered his vehicle had been broken into. A toolbox worth $100 was taken. No signs of forced entry.

Theft from Auto - - 2700 blk. E. Carson St. – 1/28 between 11:45 Am and 1:15 PM – Victim states his keys were taken from inside the LA Fitness gym and entry was made to his car. His wallet was rummaged through and a few dollars, credit card and gift card were taken.

Theft from Auto – 60 blk. Wharton Ct. – between 1/30 at 4:00 PM and 1/31 at 12:30 PM – Victim states his vehicle was unlocked when it when entry was made. Taken were a BluRay DVD player and two BluRay movies. Total is $120 worth of items.

Theft from Person/Access Device Fraud – between 1/16 and 1/26 – Victim purchased a gift card and mailed it to a friend in a card from a location in the South Side. The card was not received by the recipient. It was discovered purchases were made against this card. The store refunded the victim $100, the amount of the gift card.

Theft from Person – 100 blk. S. 15th St. – 1/27 between 2:32 PM and 5:30 PM – Victim states that a UPS package that had been delivered was stolen. Merchandise worth $60.

Theft from Person – 1700 blk E. Carson St. – 1/30 between 00:42 AM and 1:00 AM – Victim states her phone was stolen after she had set it down on the bar and left it for a period of time.

Theft from Auto – Bingham and S. 8th Sts. – between 1/30 at 10:15 PM and 1/31 at 2:00 AM – Victim states her car window was smashed out and a laptop was taken, valued at $1500.

Burglary – 1000 blk E. Carson St. – 1/31 at 2:34 AM – After a burglar alarm was triggered, officers found a suspect inside the building sleeping. He was arrested and transported to the jail. Suspect: Corey McGinnis, 26 Y.O. WM, from Gibsonia, PA

South Side Slopes (1706, 1608)

Burglary/Home Invasion – 2500 blk. Leticoe St. – 1/31 4:35 AM – Four victims were sleeping when they were woken up by four suspects inside the residence. They had guns and their faces were covered with masks. The victims were bound. Items taken include two Playstation consoles, two Iphones, a Samsung Galaxy phone and $1200. There was no sign of forced entry.

Allentown (1803)

Burglary – 800 blk. Freeland St. – 1/31 11:25 PM – A suspect kicked in the victim’s rear door and pointed a firearm at the victim. There were a total of three suspects attempting to get inside. The burglar alarm sounded which scared off the suspect, who fled.

Theft from Auto – Ceres Way at Beltzhoover Ave. – between 1/29 at 10:00 AM and 1/31 at 8:20 AM – Victim states her registration plate was stolen from her car. PA plate: JVP9358

Knoxville (3001)

Theft from Person – 200 blk. Rochelle St. – 1/25 between 6:30 PM and 11:00 PM – Victim believes a known suspect took medication and cash ($160) out of her purse while she was at the hospital.

Theft from Person – 100 blk. Charles St. – 1/26 between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM – Victim states medication was taken out of her purse while she was at a friend’s house.

Burglary – 100 blk Arabella St. – between 7/1/15 and 1/30 – Victim states the basement window had been broken out and items were stolen. Missing are a microwave, AC unit, clothing, and a sink/vanity.

Arlington (1603)

Theft from Residence – 2200 blk. Arlington Ave. – 1/31 at 2:00 AM – Victim stated that a Nintendo Wii, Playstation 4, and watches all valued to approximately $800 was stolen from her residence.

Arlington Heights (1604)

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Burglary – 1700 blk. Westmont Ave. – 1/25 12:18 PM – Officers responded to a burglar alarm and found a rear door window had been broken. Home owners arrived to discover a jewelry box containing jewelry and tote bag containing jewelry were missing. Dollar amount of the jewelry is unknown.

Theft from Person – 20 blk. Minooka St. - 1/25 7:30 AM – Victim states a known suspect took money from her purse. $100.

Robbery – 100 Minooka St. – 1/25 at 9:00 AM – Victim states he was seated in his parked car when the suspect approached him and demanded a bag that was on his lap. The suspect acted as if he had a gun in his pocket. Items taken were medications.

Suspect is a WM, 24-26 Y.O., medium build, fair complexion.

Theft from Person/Forgery – 10 blk. E. Meyers - between 1/23 and 1/26 – Victim a state a check was taken out of her check book and cashed. The signature had been forged. The suspect is known to the victim.

Theft from Auto – 2300 blk. Valera St. – 1/27 at 2:30 AM – Victim states a Halo Charger ($129) was taken from her vehicle.

Theft from Residence – 1300 Nobles Lane – between 12/1/15 and 12/3/15 – Victim placed boxes to be returned on her porch to be picked up by UPS. She only realized they were stolen when she received a bill for the items.

Theft from Auto (Gun) – 1100 Brownsville Rd. – between 1/26 and 1/29 – Victim states she discovered her 38 caliber handgun was stolen from under the driver’s seat of her car. Although the doors were locked she believes the window may have been down a couple of inches.

Theft from Residence – 200 blk. Nobles Lane – between 1/28 at 4:00 PM and 1/29 at 3:00 PM – Complainant states her mother’s manual wheelchair had been stolen from outside their front door.

Theft from Residence – 1200 blk. Brownsville Rd. – between 1/28 and 1/31 – Victim discovered two ladders (18 ft and 32 ft) that were chained together had been stolen.

Burglary – 2300 blk. Almont St. – 1/28 at 2:40 – A witness reported seeing a male enter into a residence. Officers observed this male a short distance away. The suspect fled on foot. Stolen and recovered were two purses and a wallet.
