Suspect leaves without cash in attempted robbery

 


Pittsburgh police are investigating an armed robbery on Sunday, Jan. 17.

At approximately 9 p.m. that evening, Zone 3 officers were sent to the Pizza Hut in the 2100 block of Brownsville Road. According to police, the store clerk was at the counter when a man walked into the store holding a gun.

When the clerk saw the gun, he locked himself in the cooler and hit the hold-up alarm. After waiting a few minutes, the employee came out of the cooler and the suspect was gone. Nothing was taken during the incident. 

The suspect is believed to be between 16 and 23 years old, approximately 6’1” and 160 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing a tan winter jacket, blue jeans, and a black ski mask at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
