Zone 3 Police investigating 'shots fired' call in Carrick

Zone 3 Officers were sent to a home in the 2000 block of Brownsville Road in Carrick at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, for a report of shots fired into an occupied structure.

Upon arrival, the police encountered four adult victims – three men and one woman – who had been watching TV when an unknown suspect knocked at the door. No one was at the door when they answered and when it happened two more times.

On the third and final time, the woman victim stepped outside to see if she could see anyone. A black man, wearing all dark clothing and a ski mask, put a gun to her head and pushed her toward the apartment door.

The woman was able to run inside the home and close the door.

The suspect attempted to kick in the door, breaking the frame, and fired one shot through the door. A male victim had an air rifle and fired it through the door. The suspect fled on foot to an unknown location.

None of the victims were injured.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Group Violent Unit is investigating.
