Borough reorganization meeting

Magisterial District Judge Richard King swears in Amber McGough as the new president of the Mount Oliver Borough Council. Ms. McGough was also sworn in to her second term on the council along with three new members the same evening.
Change came once again to the Mount Oliver Borough Council when three new members and a new president were sworn in at the council's Reorganization Meeting on Monday, Jan. 4.
Sworn in for their first terms were David Beltz, Christina Reft and Justin Viale along with returning member Amber McGough.
Ms. McGough was elected president of council. Mr. Viglione was elected vice-president of council and Mr. Viale president pro tem. The president pro tem presides over the council in the absence of the president and vice-president.
Following the election of officers, the council formalized a number of appointments:

Treasurer: Diane Holzer
Solicitor: Deron Gabriel
Engineer: Gateway Engineers
Street Commissioner: John Michener
Building Inspector/Code Inspector: Chuck Knaus
Emergency Management Coordinator: Steve Wilharm
Civil Service Commission: Hank Keener
Advertising Agent: The South Pittsburgh Reporter
Depository: Northwest Savings Bank
Planning Consultant: Grass Root Solutions
Electrical Inspector: Middle Atlantic Electrical Inspectors
South Hills Area Council of Governments (SHACOG) Representatives: Ms. McGough, primary; Mr. Viale, alternate
Administrator Advisory Committee: Mr. Hopkinson, primary; Ms. Connolly, alternate
Cable Television Joint Review Board: Ms. McGough, primary; Mr. Viale, alternate
Franchising Advisory Board: Mr. Hopkinson, primary; Ms. Connolly, alternate
Congress of Neighboring Communities: Ruthann Omer, Mr. Hopkinson, Ms. Connolly
The council also set the Agenda Meeting for the second Monday of each month and the Public Meeting for the third Monday of each month.
