Online booking for county parks

Online booking for shelters and facilities in all nine county parks is now available. This marks a major procedural change for the Allegheny County Parks Department, which currently requires individuals to rent shelters and facilities in person at park offices.

“The move to online park rentals is our latest step to improve the county’s technological capabilities and increase convenience for park users,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. “Residents and visitors will no longer have to stand in line at a park office in order to rent a shelter or facility. Starting December 7, park users will be able to view the availability of a shelter or facility and immediately book online at any time of the day or night.”

Park rentals may be booked online starting at midnight one year in advance of the desired date. For example, a facility may be booked starting at midnight on December 7, 2015, for use on December 7, 2016. The parks department encourages users to get ready for online booking by creating an account at http://www.alleghenycounty.us/parkrentals. The same account may be used to purchase park seasons passes and to register for park programs and activities. There is no additional fee for any online transactions.

Individuals may continue to rent shelters and facilities in person at park offices up to one year in advance, subject to availability, during normal business hours:

• Boyce Park Administration Building – Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

• Deer Lakes Park Administration Building – Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
