LifeSpan asks bakers to bake some extra cookies for seniors

Remember the wonderful smell of Grandma’s cookies baking in the oven and just waiting to taste one of each?

Many of our elderly have stated this is one of the holiday traditions they miss the most. They can no longer bake their own cookies which was a large part of their holiday tradition.

LifeSpan is asking for holiday cookie donations for its sixth annual “Sweet Holiday Wishes” Cookie Donation Campaign for Meals on Wheels/Home Delivered Meal participants this Holiday Season. While making holiday treats, LifeSpan is asking bakers to add a dozen or two to donate to the program.

LifeSpan needs 350 dozen cookies in order to gift half a dozen homemade treats to brighten the holiday season of its participants. Cookie donations must be delivered to LifeSpan no later than Monday, Dec. 14 at the LifeSpan Knoxville Community Resource Center, 320 Brownsville Road, or drop off at the LifeSpan Administration offices located at 314 East 8th Avenue, Homestead.
