As a result of an abduction from a residence on S. 22 Street on October 1, Pittsburgh Police have made two arrests in a separate investigation that began back in July of this year.

Arrested were two individuals who are charged with promoting prostitution, among various other charges.

Davin Gartley, 38, and Samantha James, 24, both of South Side, were detained on October 1 after shots were fired and a woman was abducted from their residence in the 100 block of S. 22nd Street.

According to the investigation, Mr. Gartley and Ms. James used locations on S. 22nd Street and the 100 block of Kirk Street to carry out an illegal enterprise involving drugs and prostitution. The pair would solicit women via the internet and supply them with drugs in exchange for sexual services.

Mr. Gartley and Ms. James both face charges of promoting prostitution, transporting for the purpose of engaging in prostitution, permitting place to be regularly used for prostitution, receiving benefit from prostitution, criminal conspiracy, and criminal use of communication.

They were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
