Seldom Seen cleanup will take place on October 10

Economic Development South will host a cleanup of the Seldom Seen Greenway on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. – noon.

Seldom Seen Greenway is 90 acres of undeveloped forest along Route 51. The Saw Mill Run stream flows through it. Unfortunately, every time it rains, trash and debris from the upper watershed communities washes into the stream, depositing along the banks in Seldom Seen.

Volunteers will meet in the small parking lot next to the City of Pittsburgh Salt Dome on Route 51, across from Woodruff Street.

Gloves, safety vests, and trash bags will be provided. Volunteers should wear long pants, shirts with long sleeves and sturdy boots or shoes. No open toed shoes or sandals. Rain boots, hip boots or waders are always a plus.

Volunteers are welcome to come a little early for bagels, coffee and hot cocoa.
