Carrick can learn more about public safety blitz in neighborhood

Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak’s office will host the first meeting to share information from the Carrick task force to reduce blight and crime with the wider Carrick community.

The Carrick Crime and Blight Blitz community meeting will take place on Monday, Aug. 31 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Concord Elementary School auditorium, 2350 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. This will be an opportunity for volunteers and residents to stay up to date on the progress of the overall plan.

Councilwoman Rudiak’s office has been working with the Office of Community Affairs and Mayor William Peduto, block watch and community leaders, and directors of each city department to develop a plan to tackle blight and crime hot spots in the community. The meeting will provide an opportunity to share the information that has been gathered and get resident support with the plan moving forward.
