Veterans Leadership welcomes Glass as new executive director

Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania has announced the appointment of Michael Aaron Glass as its new executive director.

Mr. Glass brings more than 10 years of executive management experience and more than 10 years of experience working with community organizations.

"On behalf of the board of directors, we're excited to announce the appointment of Michael Aaron Glass as executive director," said Kevin Buck, Veterans Leadership Program Board chair. "While Veterans Leadership Program experiences an era of transition, we're confident that Michael's strategic and visionary leadership will enable us to make significant advancements towards meeting the evolving needs of local veterans."

Mr. Glass offers Veterans Leadership Program a diverse background with military, entrepreneurial, nonprofit and executive management experience. He has more than 15 years of experience advocating for equal rights for disenfranchised populations in Pittsburgh, including homeless veterans.

In 2006, he was named executive director of the Northside Common Ministries and later named chief executive officer at Dress for Success Pittsburgh. During his nonprofit management experience, Mr. Glass learned how to assess problems and develop and implement strategies, which is evident by his track record of revitalizing and sustaining organizations.

Additionally, he holds a passion for social justice issues including disadvantaged and marginalized groups, youth and education, disability awareness and he is determined to help others achieve their personal, business, and financial goals.

"Veterans Leadership Program addresses a remarkable need in western Pennsylvania and I'm honored to serve as the executive director," said Mr. Glass. "As a former marine and an entrepreneur, I'm looking forward to preserving the organization's history and mission while we strategically plan for a thriving future."

Mr. Glass served six years active duty as an enlisted U.S. Marine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Waynesburg University, holds a Master of Business Administration from Point Park University and is a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh XXIX.
