Learn to become a better speaker

The Carrick Toastmasters Club will be meeting on July 18 at 10:15 a.m. until at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh—Carrick, 1811 Brownsville Rd.

Zenia Ayrton will be giving a short presentation on “Becoming the Speaker You Aspire To Be.” Her speech will include information such as: What is it that sets speakers apart; How to grab an audience’s attention; Tips for beginner as well as advanced speakers; and, How to make a speech and the presentation memorable.

In addition to helping start the Toastmasters club in Carrick, Ms. Ayrton recently received her Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) award. This is the highest award in Toastmasters International and less than three percent of the more than 300,000 members actually earn it.

To achieve her DTM, she has given more than 40 speeches within Toastmasters and participated in numerous leadership roles in various clubs, the district and the community.
