Erasing the 'Invisible Line'

On Saturday May 30, 2015, Carrick and Mount Oliver Borough Officials "Erased the Invisible Line" between community members, police and elected officials together on the city and borough side of the line by shaking hands; marking a new era of cooperation between the borough and the city to crack down on crime and promote main street development. Participating in the ceremony were: (on left) Donna William, secretary of Zone 3 Police Citizens' Council; Officer Christine Luffey, Community Police Pgh.; Carolyn Krachkowski, president of Toastmaster Carrick Pa; Trish Hatfield, Vice President of Carrick Community Council; Sarah Baxendell, Hilltop Alliance project manager Greenspace Asset Development; Ken Wolfe, president of Zone 3 Police Citizens' Council; District 4 Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak; and, District 3 Councilman Bruce Kraus. (right): Mt. Oliver Chief of Police Matthew Juzwick; William Kortus, Mt. Oliver Block Group; Sandy Sieler, Mt. Oliver Block Group; Mt. Oliver Borough Manager Rick Hopkinson; Mt. Oliver Councilman Frank Bernadini; Bernie Pawloski, Mt. Oliver Block Group; and, Rob Conroy, director of Organizing Cease Fire of Pa. Also participating were: Carol Anthony, Carrick/Overbrook Block Watch and Jami Gregg, Economic Development South, Business Manager Mt. Oliver/Knoxville.

taking back our communities and neighborhoods one step at a time. This action has been long overdue in many areas of the city, it's time we ALL consider what we can do together against the bullies who have ravaged our streets.
