Water Weekends at Carnegie Science
Carnegie Science Center will host Water Weekends every Saturday and Sunday this summer, from June 20 – Aug. 30, exploring the science of water.
Water Weekends will feature special water-themed demonstrations and activities offering a chance to discover local animals that rely on our waterways and the water purification process.
Visitors can act as citizen scientists by bringing to the Science Center a sample of their own water for testing. A testing probe will record data, such as pH, turbidity, and nutrients.
Real water scientists will be on hand on some Saturdays. For the latest schedule and information, visit http://www.CarnegieScienceCenter.org.
Water Weekends pair with the Science Center’s newest exhibit, H2Oh!: Why Our Rivers Matter. The impressive confluence of Pittsburgh’s three rivers serves as the backdrop of the H2Oh! gallery, located on the Science Center’s first floor. Inside the gallery, visitors can explore the three rivers through real-time data and with a thermal camera. The exhibit also offers a water table, live local animals, and a chance to explore fluid dynamics in fun ways.
Water Weekends are sponsored by 21st Century Cyber Charter School.
