Market House Senior Center will be open Monday evenings

 


The Market House Senior Center on 12th Street in South Side will be offering evening hours every Monday in June.

The center will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m., with the exception of June 22.

The Market House will offer a Latin aerobics class from 6-7 p.m. every Monday evening, for $1 per class. It will also offer a Jewelry Class to make beach themed jewelry on Mondays June 1, 15, and 29 from 5-7 p.m. for $5 for all 3 days.

A free Summer Kick-Off Picnic is planned for June 2, at Riverview Park, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., call to register.

Farmer’s Market Voucher Day will be June 16 from 9-11 a.m. and then 1-3 p.m. This is a program for people 60 and over, who meet specific financial requirements and live in Allegheny County. This program gives four vouchers totaling $20 that can be used at any farmer market in Allegheny County for local produce. Seniors should bring their Photo ID when they come.

The center also has a exercise room with ellipticals, treadmills, and stationary bikes, as well as computers with internet access and printers. They serve a hot meal and provide a place for adults 60 years and over to meet new people and have new experiences, or reconnect with old friends and neighbors with no registration fee.
