Design workshops for steps project

 

The Oakley Street Mosaic Steps Project on the South Side Slopes would be the first public art project on city steps in Pittsburgh.

Join the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association for the part one of two community design workshops at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, for the first Pittsburgh public art project on city steps: Oakley Street Mosaic Steps Project.

The design session will take place at The Brashear Association, 2005 Sarah Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.

The session will include warm-up exercises for participants as well as word and image generation led by artist Laura Jean McLaughlin.

The second workshop, also at The Brashear Association, will take place on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

This workshop will share words and images from the first session incorporated into an initial drawing for the steps by Ms. McLaughlin. She will take feedback and suggestions from the second session to create the final design.
