The Clean Pittsburgh Commission was established in August 2005 through legislation introduced to City Council. The commission’s mission is to work to improve the environmental quality of life of Pittsburgh residents through litter and illegal dumping prevention, clean-up and enforcement.

The Bob Awards are a tribute to the late Mayor Bob O’Connor and his dedication to cleaning up the city. They were created to recognize local efforts to clean-up, prevent and eliminate litter in city neighborhoods.
