Trinity Lutheran Church begins 12-month Mission Program


Trinity Lutheran Mt. Oliver is presenting a 12-month Mission Program.

Starting with a Soup and Sandwich Day on January 24, they presented brochures on various food banks, WIC, senior boxes, and the qualifying base for each of these programs. They also had a table of information about the church and posted concerns papers where people could list if they needed prayers, baptisms, blessings, special problems, etc.

The Mission Program will continue each month. Unless otherwise noted, all the programs will begin at noon and end at 2 p.m. Programs include:

February 21: Heart Health Month. In conjunction with the American Heart Association, they will serve a healthy lunch, have a speaker, and present a free cookbook.

March 21st: Handling Stress. New Horizon Counseling Center will speak about methods to handle stress and answer questions. Lunch will be served.

April 11: Oral Health Month. A dentist will be on hand to do quick check ups and free dental supplies will be given out. A Light lunch will be provided.

May 16: Kids Book Week. A light lunch will be served and free books will be handed out. 

June 20: Fire and Firework Safety. The fire department will be on hand to instruct people on fire safety. A picnic lunch will be provided.

July 18: Handling Family Pressures. New Horizon Counseling Center will present a program on stress and related issues. Light lunch will be provided.

August 15: Back To School. The church will be passing out school supplies to all that attend. A snack will be provided.

September 26: Elder Care. New Horizon Counseling Center will answer questions and information will be handed out concerning the care of our elders. An Oktoberfest luncheon and crafts sale will run from noon until 3 p.m.

October 31: Trick or Treat. Hot dogs and treat bags will be passed out from 4-6 p.m. at the Margaret Street entrance.

November 21: Blood Pressure/Diabetes Month. Free blood pressure screening and information on the prevention and care of diabetes. A light lunch will be served.

December 12: A Christmas Surprise. The children of Trinity will present a Christmas Program followed by a luncheon and gift bags. All are invited.
