Council recruiting members in Carrick

Carrick Community Council (CCC) has a lot planned for this year and they are asking for help to make it happen.

Carrick residents are being encouraged to join the council to help make the community a great place to live, work or visit. As part of the History Center Affiliates Program, members will receive a CCC membership card that currently entitles them and up to three other people unlimited visits to the Heinz History Center, Meadowcroft and the Fort Pitt Museum at no cost.

Members are able to review the various community communication outlets such as the “Carrick Community Council” on Facebook and the CCC website at to receive updates on events happening locally and general announcements of interest to the community. They also have the option to join the Carrick List Serve at

Members can attend public membership meetings held four times throughout the year to hear about what is happening in their community, provide feedback and ideas, and to learn how to get involved in future initiatives. Only paid members are eligible to vote at the elections held annually in November. The first public meeting is currently scheduled for March 23.

Membership is good for a 12 month period.

Those who have an area of expertise or interest that will benefit the community, the CCC encourages them to make an impact in 2015 by joining with other members and planning and participating on committees including: Crime and Safety, Beautification, and Special Events.

Dues are $5 per person and are payable by check to Carrick Community Council, PO Box 5901, Pittsburgh, PA 15210. Include the names of member(s) joining, email address and any committees they are interested in assisting.
