Councilman Kraus will seek third term on council

 


Pittsburgh’s City Council President Bruce A. Kraus has announced his campaign for re-election.

“I am excited to announce my bid for re-election.” said Mr. Kraus who is serving his second term on council, “Through public private partnerships, and engagement from our many community groups, we are accomplishing great things.”

He noted that by prioritizing public safety and working with police, community and business partners, he has focused on curbing gun violence and restoring order to nightlife, leading to safer neighborhoods and attracting greater economic development.

“Special consideration to the importance of public space, recreation areas and the role libraries play in benefiting District 3 neighborhoods will continue to be a passion of mine,” he said

The 2015 City Council race will be the first council election since Mayor William Peduto was sworn into office.

Council President Kraus will be seeking the endorsement of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee next month. The Third Council District includes Allentown, Arlington, Arlington Heights, Beltzhoover, Knoxville, Oakland, Mt. Oliver-City, Mt. Washington, South Side Flats, South Side Slopes, and St. Clair.
