German Christmas services at First Lutheran Church


First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant Street, downtown Pittsburgh, will host the German community of Pittsburgh for Christmas worship on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Horst H. Bandle a native of Germany and pastor- in- residence at First Lutheran Church, Downtown Pittsburgh, will be the worship leader and will preach in German.

Special music by the Teutonia Mannerchor and Damenchor, the Pittsburgh Posaunenchor (brass choir), the Gloria Dei Ringers, and tenor soloist, André Bierman, along with traditional German carols. 

Following the service, there will be an informal reception. Reduced parking is available in the Mellon Square and Smithfield-Liberty garages, for $1 with a validated ticket (have ticket stamped at ushers table.)

Founded in 1837, First Lutheran Church is one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in Pittsburgh. The church is located downtown, across from the US Steel Tower.
