Mt. Oliver will receive state grant for Ormsby

State Rep. Harry Readshaw, D-Allegheny, reported he has been informed Mount Oliver is being awarded a grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

“The funding will help provide assistance with improvements to Ormsby Park, making it a more inviting place for families to enjoy the outdoors,” Rep. Readshaw said. “I commend the members of the CFA for their wise decision to invest in this great project.”

The borough will receive $125,000 to help with making improvements to the park. It will add rubber safety surfacing around the playground area, build and install seven benches and two pavilions, install a security camera system and add a new fence around the park. The total cost of the project is $155,078.
