Costume contest a hit with Carrick kids

 

Winners of the Carrick Community Council's Halloween Contest pose with City of Pittsburgh Council Member Natalia Rudiak.

The Carrick Community Council's annual Halloween Contest drew dozens of neighborhood kids to show off their scariest, and prettiest, costumes.

In addition to a costume competition, the kids could make crafts and decorate cookies baked by the Pittsburgh Carrick High School Culinary Class. Students from the high school were also there to help.

Winners in the costume contest were:

Prettiest: First Place, Isabella Pashel and Second Place, Kadie Holzapfel

Scariest: First Place, Savannah Williams and Second Place, Nathan Waits

Cutest: First Place, Logan Emery and Second Place, Ellyssa Ellis

Most Creative: Joey Holzapfel

Best Theme: AJ Chajkowski

Most Unique: Grace Stepp

Most Original: Damian Richards

Best Costume: Emma Blake

Sponsors of the Carrick Community Council's Halloween Contest included: state Senator Jay Costa, state Rep. Harry Readshaw and city Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak.
